EDINBURGH’S CHRISTMAS AWARDED FOR EVENT EXCELLENCE

The Edinburgh’s Christmas 2012 event has scooped two prestigious industry awards at a national ceremony in Birmingham.

The producer of Edinburgh’s Christmas 2012, She’s Gott It! was awarded with ‘Event of the Year’ and ‘Event Management Best Practice’ for Edinburgh’s Christmas 2012 at the annual National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) Awards last night.

The company, which has offices in both Edinburgh and Durham, has delivered the event for City of Edinburgh Council for the past six years, and Edinburgh’s Christmas has repeatedly been voted as one of the top Christmas events in the world.

The awards recognised creative programming and outstanding attention to detail when delivering events, and maintaining high standards of safe working practice.

Founder of She’s Gott It! Events, Nickie Gott said:- “At the heart of everything we do is creativity and best practice so I am absolutely thrilled that the team has been recognised for their hard work and commitment to delivering some of the UK’s most spectacular events.  Being recognised by a national industry body is such an honour, as it affirms the hard work and passion all my staff have towards making our audiences enjoy every minute of every event we deliver.”

The ‘Event of the Year’ win was based on the company’s production and management of Edinburgh’s Christmas and the ‘Event Management Best Practice’ win was thanks to the strong investment and commitment by the company to attain Contractors’ Health and Safety accreditation (CHAS) for the second year.

She’s Gott it! delivered an enviable list of events in 2012, including St Andrew’s Day at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh’s Christmas, a Hogmanay Celebration in Musselburgh, Olympic Football Events and Science Festival, Brainwave.

The City of Edinburgh Council has awarded the contract for the next three years to a consortium made up of Underbelly and the organisers of  Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, Pete Irvine’s Unique Events. The contract for the next three years will cost the council £3.8m and there will be options to extend the contract for two further 12 month periods.
