The signs are that Musselburgh Ladies Day is heading for a fourth successive sell out.

The switch to a Friday race day from the traditional Saturday is proving to be a hit, with the East Lothian course reporting more advance ticket sales than at this time in 2009.
Already all grandstand hospitality, sponsorship and restaurant packages are sold out. The Champers and Hampers and Picnic Party tickets have also been snapped up and are sold out, leaving only general admission tickets and some trackside marquee hospitality packages available.
General admission ticket sales for the glamorous event on Friday June 18, are currently sitting at more than 4000 with daily ticket sales averaging 100.
Ladies Day at Musselburgh is firmly established as Scotland’s most popular race day and has attracted capacity crowds in each of the last three years.
A mixture of top quality flat racing, high fashion and competitions sponsored by leading brand Jenners has brought the crowds flocking to Musselburgh and this year is looking to be no exception.
Musselburgh Racecourse commercial manager, Sarah Montgomery, said: “We are delighted with the level of advance sales which is exceeding last year and shows Ladies Day has bags of staying power.
“All the indicators are that our Friday fashion extravaganza is heading for a sell out but we know from experience that this brings its own problems as we have to deal with hundreds of disappointed race goers who haven’t managed to secure tickets.
“My advice is don’t put it off, if you want to make sure you are at Edinburgh’s premier summer fashion event, book your tickets now. We are constantly looking at ways to improve Ladies Day to keep it fresh and exciting and this year we are confident we have come up with another winner and are looking forward to welcoming another capacity crowd at Musselburgh.”
The racecourse recently appointed former Miss Scotland and Miss UK, Nicola Jolly, as its “ambassador” for Ladies Day and she will lead be leading from the front as the Face of Ladies Day, welcoming VIP guests and assisting in the judging of the main Fashion in the Field events.
