Over the course of the past four years, Tupiniquim, the Brazilian crepe kiosk at the top of Middle Meadow Walk, has developed its own special place in Edinburgh’s culinary heart.

Showcasing outstanding gluten-free crepes and excellent freshly-squeezed juices, the Tupiniquim family has many admirers across the city and beyond. They’ve had open air cinema screenings next to the kiosk and this summer added the “Bamboo Belly”, a stage for performers to entertain the public. It has been lively throughout August with Festival shows.

If it’s not a business you’ve come across on your travels then you should plan a trip over to the top of Meadow Walk where they are based and try one of their fabulous crepes or pancakes from their regularly changing menu with a freshly squeezed juice.

Sadly, the owner of the kiosk has decided to sell it, and they don’t have enough to buy it from him. They would love to continue spending their days feeding their friends and building on the lovely community they have built up. To take things into their own hands, they’ve set up a Kickstarter with the ambitious target of raising £10k in just 12 days, starting today and running until 30 August.

This is no small ask, but “mony a mickle maks a muckle”, so let’s make this happen. Full details over on their Kickstarter page.
