“Having lain empty for several years, the former supermarket premises at 69 Marionville Road have now been refurbished to become the largest European centre in the Taoist Tai Chi Society’s portfolio. With the Society’s focus on health and well-being, the centre will prove a significant resource.

The celebrations are an opportunity to combine colour and festivity, and include demonstrations of the 108-move Taoist Tai Chi™ Set, a dragon dance performed by members with the Society’s own 25 metre long dragon, a Chinese lion dance, words of greetings from distinguished guests and Society leaders from around the world, and lunch.

Joining us in the celebrations and lending his support will be Scottish Justice Minister, Kenny MacAskill MSP, whose constituency includes the Society’s premises in Marionville Road.

Many other representatives of the communities in which the Society is active have been invited, including Councillors, MSPs, MPs and MEPs, and others. Between 500 and 1,000 Society members are expected, from the UK, from Europe, and worldwide in what will be the largest gathering of Society members ever in the UK.

There will be opportunities to speak with Society leaders from home and abroad, and with other guests. Members of the Society will talk about the benefits they have gained from practicing Taoist Tai Chi™ internal arts of health.”
