Cheeky bundle of Joy Stuart Little Shortlegs looking for home

The Dogs Trust West Calder team is searching for a home for Stuart Little Shortlegs who may be small in stature but has a MIGHTY BIG personality.

The Jack Russell Terrier epitomizes the saying ‘good things come in small packages’ as he is fun, cheeky and a little bundle of joy.

His friends at Dogs Trust West Calder want to see the pocket rocket pooch settled with his forever family before his 10th birthday in October.

Stuart was handed into Dogs Trust care in 2019 after his previous owner’s circumstances changed, meaning they could no longer care for him.

The super cute terrier was adopted in 2021, but sadly, his time in a home was short-lived due to his new owner’s ill health, and he was returned to Dogs Trust care.

Since then, Stuart Shortlegs has been overlooked and is lovingly known as a Dogs Trust ‘Underdog’, the term used by the charity for dogs who have been waiting for their forever home for more than six months.

These dogs often require additional training, ongoing veterinary care, have specific rehoming needs or, like Stuart Shortlegs, are simply overlooked.

Miranda Sabey, Assistant Manager Operations at Dogs Trust West Calder, said: Stuart Shortlegs is a fantastic little fella.

“He has a giant personality in a teeny tiny body and is generally the cutest little button you ever did see.

“He knows his mind and has many favourite things, including his trainer Liv, car journeys anywhere to walking locations where he can explore and have adventures, playing chase, sunbathing, and cheese.

“He enjoys meeting new people so they can tell him how handsome he is and then give him a tasty treat, which he often hides under the sofa for later.  He is also super playful and very smart with some of his party tricks, including popping his nose through heart-shaped hands and resting his chin on your hand.

“He can be unsure of new people, so he would like to build a bond with his adopter before going home but once the bond is made, Stuart Little Shortlegs will love his owners unconditionally and will greet them with the cutest bum wiggle and happy smile to brighten up every day.”

Stuart Little Shortlegs is looking for an adult-only home with his own garden where he can play and relax.  He awaits the quiet life as part of the family in a household with few visitors and a calm environment.
