Some excellent work from Northeast Support Team’s special constables

Special Constables from Edinburgh’s Northeast Support Team have since the start of the year committed to an amazing 720 hrs to date.

Three training nights have been completed along with a full training day encompassing many different areas from arrest procedures, trauma care, helping people in crisis and adverse childhood experiences.

So far 15 people have been arrested for a variety of offences including six arrest warrants

Thirty-six road traffic offences were detected from disqualified driving, speeding, illegal vehicle usage to mobile phone use

Foot and plainclothes patrols conducted to detect and disrupt criminal or antisocial behaviour

Officers have provided proactive bus and tram patrols to keep transport routes safe

Eight vehicles have been seized

The officers attended thirty-six incidents including road traffic collisions, assaults and theft
