Man 25 arrested on numerous warrants and breaching bail conditions

Oxgangs Community police officers arrested a 25-year-old man who was wanted on numerous warrants last night.  

The officers were patrolling the surrounds of Saughton Prison following reports of items being thrown over the walls.  

The man was seen to make off after acting suspiciously.  

After a foot chase he was apprehended nearby.  

Enquiries established that in addition to the warrants, he was arrested for breaching his bail conditions –as he should have been in his house at the time 

In addition he was wanted for interview by several other officers . 

.A knife was found nearby that has been seized for further enquiry. 

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today Monday 24 March 2025.
