Fife burned but Steelers cut down by Stars

Fife Flyers emerged pointless from a weekend double-header after skidding to a 9-2 defeat at second-placed Coventry Blaze on Sunday night, American hit-man Nick Seitz claiming a glory treble, two goals coming inside one minute.
The reverse followed a 5-4 defeat at The Fife Ice Arena on Saturday to Cardiff Devils who top the ten-strong Elite League.
Blaze were on fire in front of 1,907 fans in The SkyDome and they burned the visitors, who prop up the league, with four goal bursts in the first and third sessions.
Overall, Blaze outshot Fife 51-27 and it took the home side only 18 seconds to open their account.
Elsewhere, more than 7,100 fans were left stunned as Dundee Stars, who are sixth, edged fourth-placed Sheffield Steelers 4-2 in Yorkshire.
The Tayside team won the first session 1-0, drew the middle stanza and won the third 1-0, Keanu Yamamoto netted the fourth less than five minutes from time after being set-up by Philippe Sanche.
