Warren O’Hora and Chris Cadden available for Hibs league opener

David Gray provided an update on his injured players ahead of tomorrow’s William Hill Premiership opener against St Mirren.

Warren O’Hora had a slight injury scare coming off in Hibs Premier Sports Cup win against Peterhead last weekend.

The 25-year-old defender, though, has reacted well to treatment and is back available this weekend.

Gray told Hibernian TV: “Warren came off early on in the game last weekend with a knock, but that settled right down really quick; it was a bit of a strange one.

“He’s trained all week, so he’s in a good place.”

There’s also positive news on right-back Chris Cadden.

“Chris Cadden has been in training all week. We have been cautious on that one because of his injury history and the stage we’re at in the season.

“Knowing Cadds he’s 100mph all the time and pushing himself all the time, which is why we’ve been cautious. He’s in a good place.”

It’s likely that Gray will be without Harry McKirdy and Elie Youan, though, on Sunday.

“Harry McKirdy has a chest infection, but he’s been recovering every single day, so we’re going to manage that one as we go.

“Elie is still unavailable. We’ve done some more investigating into his injury and had really positive news on it, so we will push him forward a little more now. We will see how he goes.”
