Scotland’s Garden Scheme – garden open on Tuesday and Thursday

The garden at Inveresk EH21 7TH is open today from 2 to 4pm and again on Thursday for visitors to admire the artist’s garden with beautiful plants filling every border and spilling over arches and lining paths. This will be the final opening this year and is not one to miss out on.

The garden has a shell house, rose parterres, sculptures and fountains.

The garden is owned by Sir Charles and Lady Fraser who have nominated the charity Trees for Life to receive 60% of the funds raised from entrance monies. Find out how to buy tickets here.

Saughton celebration

The Friends of Saughton Park are celebrating their 10 year anniversary with a community event on Saturday 27 July from 12 until 4pm. There will be music at the band stand and all sorts of family activities.

WHALE Arts have announced their new Chief Executive

WHALE Arts has chosen Kate Griffin their interim CEO to become their permanent Chief Executive. Ms Griffin has more than two decades of experience in the creative sector.

Leith Theatre

Leith Theatre have a new digital space where you can keep an eye on the latest developments on the journey to reinstate the building to a fully functioning theatre once more. The theatre under the Chairmanship of Bob Last has carried out “extensive building work” since early 2023 and now they announce that the first phase of remedial work has been completed to make the structure wind and watertight – and a bit more.
