Braid are East ladies tennis champions

Braid are the VMH Solicitors East Division One ladies tennis champions after a dominant season at local level.

Captain Suzie Provan’s team won all 10 matches to finished with a five point lead over runners-up Blackhall.

At the heart of the side Sarah McFadyen enjoyed an unbeaten record (20/20) as did Mhairi Beattie from fewer matches played (16/16).

Special mentions also to Heather Croll (19/20) and Emily Gates (17/18) who finished in the top six of the league stats.

The league title came in a season when Braid again reached a Scottish Cup final but once more lost out to Newlands although they did take the final into a third round with Sarah and Mhairi winning 2/3.
