Hearts land £5m cash bonus for Euro qualification

Hearts have secured third place in the cinch Premiership and will play in European football next season earning a healthy reward for their efforts this term.

Steven Naismith’s men now face a Europa League play-off in August and victory in the home and away tie would earn a place in the league phase of the tournament.

Defeat would mean Hearts drop into the Conference League but the Euro adventure means the Gorgie club will earn a minimum of £5m.

Rangers’ 4-1 win over Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Sunday leaves the Jambos 11 points ahead of the Rugby Park outfit with only nine points left to play for.

Hearts have fixtures at home against Dundee on Saturday (15.00), at St Mirren next Wednesday (May 15, 19.45) and at home to Rangers on May 18 (12.30) to wrap up their campaign.
