Brown tells Tigers: ‘we need to click back into gear’
Glasgow team manager, Cami Brown, demanded a new energy from his side against Redcar Bears as the Allied Vehicles Tigers face a Cab Direct Championship clash at Ashfield Stadium on Friday (7.30pm).
A Super Heat loss to Edinburgh Stellar Monarchs followed by defeat at Workington Comets has wounded Tigers and Brown wants his side to click back into top gear.
He said: “A speedway season is always like a roller-coaster ride with so many ups and downs. It’s just something you have to expect, it’s never ever a smooth ride.
“We’ve had so many highs with the Tigers, including winning the league title at Poole (pirates), but you have to deal with the tougher times as well.
“It’s fair to say this season has been hard. We’ve lost Lee Complin through a ban and results haven’t been what we would have hoped, but we certainly won’t lie down and accept second best at Glasgow. My job is to get results and that’s what I’ll always aim to do.”
Brown added: “I want a new energy from the side against Redcar. We need to find an extra level of form to really kick on and I’ve told the boys that.
“Redcar always ride Ashfield very well. They’ve had a tough time with injuries as well, but they have good guests and it will be a tricky meeting for us.
“It’s an opportunity for our lads to show what they are made of. We’ve got some great riders but they’ve not all clicked on the same night yet. Now is the time.”
