Brown ready for crunch clash at Monarchs
Glasgow Allied Vehicles Tigers team manager, Cami Brown, goes into Friday’s win or bust clash in the BSN Series at arch rivals, Stellar Monarchs, and admitted: “It’s a hard one to call.”
Edinburgh snatched victory in a Superheat at Ashfield earlier this month and now comes down to one meeting to decide which club qualifies for the semi-finals.
Brown looked back at that Ashfield defeat and declared: “It’s not the result we wanted at home, obviously, but our task is clear at Armadale, it’s win or bust.
“The target is 46 points and that’s it. If we manage to do that, we go through, simple. It won’t be easy. We’ve not got anywhere near our top form yet this season. Edinburgh have looked promising at times, but have also struggled.
“It’s a hard one to call on current form and it will come down to who turns up and delivers on the night.”
Brown said that over the past four seasons the clubs have met on ten occasions at Armadale and it is level at 5-5 in wins and the team boss added: “We’ve got a decent record there, but that means nothing on Friday night.
“It’s now up to our boys to show what they are made of. If they can get 46 points and take the win and qualify for the semis, the fans will love it.”
Glasgow go to Redcar on Saturday seeking a decent result after a below par start to their Cab Direct Championship title defence.
Brown added: “We weren’t good enough at Workington and we lost the aggregate bonus point and we need to find some momentum now. That starts with a win at Redcar and that would kick-start our league play-off push.”
