Fife slip up at home to arch rivals Dundee
Fife Flyers remain at the bottom of the ten-strong Elite League after being beaten 4-2 at Kirkcaldy by arch rivals Dundee Stars.
The Kirkcaldy club led 1-0 at the first break but lost the middle session 2-0 and the third 2-1.
Coach Tom Coolen started with back-up goaltender Andy Little and Flyers broke the deadlock after 12min through Kyle Osterberg assisted by Aleski Makela.
But Stars, sponsored by Trade-Mart, levelled 1min 21sec into the middle session through Carter Johnson and they moved 2-1 ahead when Ryan Valentini netted unassisted eight minutes later.
It got worse for the home side as Anthony Rinaldi scored Dundee’s third after 46 minutes but Fife rallied and Max Humitz pulled one back less than three minutes after that.
But the Tayside team scored their fourth when Brent Beaudoin was set up by Joshua Brittain three minutes later in a game in which Fife outshot their opponents 35-31 and Dundee logged 25 penalty minutes against two from the home side.
