Malones Leith bring a touch of Irish heritage to their pub food
Malones Leith launch oyster and Guinness nights with a taste of Irish heritage in the heart of Leith.
Malones Leith
Irish authenticity lies at the core of the Malones brand and the pub is aunching a series of Oysters & Guinness Nights from Thursday 30 November. In partnership with The Oysterman, the regular events will deliver a taste of Irish heritage on their mezzanine level, overlooking the main bar.
The intriguing combination which once graced the tables of traditional pubs across Ireland is making a resurgence. Discovered by accident in the 1800s, the pairing of Oysters & Guinness has been a staple in Irish cuisine for generations and is now celebrated by food lovers and critics the world over.
Originally a common food eaten regularly in pubs across Ireland, it wasn’t until a member of British elite tasted the pairing that it became an officially recognised dish. Since then, the pairing has contributed to the country’s cultural and culinary heritage and is still provided on the menu in the Guinness brewery.
The evening begins with a welcome drink at the bar before heading upstairs to the mezzanine level for the Guinness and oyster tasting, before returning to the bar for some live music and more Guinness.
Tickets cost £18 per person and are available from the Malones Leith website: http://www.malonesleith.com/events-at-malones-2/
