Jobs on offer in East Lothian
Job seekers in East Lothian are being offered an employment lifeline while pursuing a rewarding career in the care sector.
U Homecare is at present seeking 10 local candidates who will provide essential frontline care to elderly and disabled adults requiring support with daily living tasks.
Founder Gavin Bryce says that with unemployment rates continuing to rise across Scotland, and with the Government’s Job Retention Scheme coming to an end in October, the positions are perfect for anyone considering a change in job – or career.
Gavin said: “We are looking for 10 true heroes to join our band of carers in East Lothian. Delivering essential care for people at home has never been more important than in the midst of the current crisis, so we’re looking for caring, compassionate people who feel they can make a difference.
“Experience isn’t essential as we provide thorough in-house training, but successful candidates will require to be empathetic individuals who like to chat and can relate to people from all walks of life. When the Furlough scheme comes to an end the jobs market will be flooded with candidates so now is a good time for people to seek secure employment for the rocky months ahead.
“Working in social care is a vocation rather than a job and the positions we have available are the gateway to building a rewarding career and progressing vital social care skills.”
Full and part time positions in a variety of shift patterns are available in Tranent, Pencaitland, Longniddry, Prestonpans, Port Seton, Musselburgh, North Berwick, and Gullane.
As a Scottish Living Wage employer, starting rates begin at £9.30/hour with a benefits package that includes 29 days annual leave and participation in U Homecare’s reward and recognition programme.
