Sense Scotland celebrate 35 year anniversary

Disability charity, Sense Scotland, is celebrating 35 years of supporting deafblind people in Scotland with a fundraising campaign.

The charity began in 1985 as a small group of families who pressed for services for their children, and has grown to successfully support thousands of disabled people and their families in thousands of projects and services, throughout Scotland.

As part of their birthday celebrations Sense asked supporters to help raise sponsorship with their take on #35waysin35days where for 35 days between 29^th August and 2^nd October they can undertake any kind of challenge that involves the numbers 3.5 or 35.

Lothian MSP, Jeremy Balfour, who convenes the Scottish Parliament’s Cross-Party Group on Disability has lodged a motion in support of the charity’s work and congratulated them on their anniversary:“Sense Scotland is a remarkable charity that has done an excellent job over the past 35 years of supporting deafblind people across Scotland.

“The success of the charity is displayed through the inspiring personal testimonies of people who they support achieving their goals, whether that be to live independently, get a job or learn a new skill.

“My congratulations go to all past and present staff and volunteers at Sense Scotland on 35 years and I wish them many more successful years as they continue to provide support for those who need it.”
