Three teenagers arrested following disturbance in Meadows
Three teenagers were arrested following a disturbance at the Meadows on Friday night after reports of a large outdoor party.
Police officers were called to reports of a disturbance at around 7:45pm and whilst dealing with the incident a 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly smashing a police van window, whilst a 16-year-old boy was arrested for breach of the peace and a 15-year-old boy was charged with being in possession of a knife.
The youths will be the subject of reports to the Procurator Fiscal and Childrens Reporter.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received reports of disturbances at the Meadows Public Park in Edinburgh, on the evening of Friday, 31 July, 2020.
“Officers attended and whilst there the rear window of a police van was allegedly smashed. A 19-year-old male was arrested in connection with this.
“Additionally a 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged for being in possession of a knife and a further arrest was made of a 16-year-old in connection with a breach of the peace.
Reports will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal and Childrens Reporter.
