Prolific striker Kevin Nisbet rejects other offers to sign for Hibs

Hibs have beaten off rival bids to secure the services of prolific young striker Kevin Nisbet from Dunfermline.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract, on the back of a successful spell with the Pars – where he notched 23 goals in 32 appearances.

Nisbet knocked back alternative interest from both sides of the border, and will train with his new team-mates for the first time this morning at the Hibernian Training Centre.

He said: “I’m proud to be a Hibernian player and I’m grateful to the club for giving me this opportunity.

“It’s a new challenge for me and I’m confident – with the help of the staff here – that I can continue to improve as a player and help the team.

“I’ve been working hard on my fitness during the break and I can’t wait to get going.”

Head Coach Jack Ross added: “We’re delighted to have Kevin on board. It’s a position that we wanted to strengthen in and if you look at his profile, and where he is in his career, then I think it’s a really good fit for both parties.

“I’m excited by it. We were keen to get him in in January so we’re all pleased to get it over the line now.”
