Hearts and Partick Thistle have released a joint statement tonight following the news that the Scottish Football Association has charged both clubs for taking legal action to overturn their respective relegations.

The governing body has set a date of 6 August for the disciplinary case to be heard.

The statement, on both clubs’ websites reads:

We are incredulous to have received a Notice of Complaint from the SFA in the circumstances.

It is oppressive of them to require submissions from both clubs by 20 July when we are, in terms of their own articles of association, actively engaged in arbitration.

As our focus must be squarely on that, we have already requested the SFA to review the timing to allow us to be properly prepared and represented. That is the very least we should expect from the process.”

In other news, Kevin Murphy will leave his role as First Team Manager of Hearts Women to take up a position at Rangers.

Kevin, who played a key role in integrating Hearts Women into the club, will move to Ibrox to become their women’s side’s First Team Assistant Coach and Girls Academy

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Kevin said: “I want to thank the club for all they have done for me. Hearts gave me the opportunity to return to Scotland and help create the integration of the Girls and Women’s teams to the club.

“I have been supported in this by so many wonderful staff and cannot thank them all enough for their dedication and willingness to support the programme as much as they have.

“A special mention to Ann Budge and Roger Arnott who from day one have supported me in my quest and I leave the club with a tinge of regret that I cannot see the project out however I am happy in the fact to know that it’s in a great place and the clubs continued support will ensure it goes from strength to strength.

“Now as a supporter, a pledger and an ex-employee, I will look on from afar and wish all areas of the club success in the coming years”
