Hearts have issued a statement this afternoon describing a letter received from the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) relating to their join court action with Partick Thistle as ‘wrong’ and ‘misleading’

Hearts and Thistle are pursuing legal action against the SPFL and are challenging their relegation from the Premiership and Championship respectively after clubs voted to call season 2019/20 with several league games still to be played.

The statement, on the official Hearts website reads:

“Along with the other 40 SPFL clubs, Hearts and Partick Thistle have received a letter, signed by Neil Doncaster, that relates to the forthcoming Court case.

It is wrong and much of its content is misleading and the timing itself questionable, we are currently awaiting legal advice on what needs to happen next.”

The initial court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday 1st July at 11.00am
