Teenager charged with Union Canal attack

A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a woman on the Union Canal path in the Wester Hailes area at around 8.30pm on Friday, March 13.

The 37-year-old victim was taken to Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary with serious injuries following the incident.

The teenager was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on
Friday 19^th March.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old boy has
been arrested and charged in relation to an attempted murder in Edinburgh.

“The 17-year-old is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court
today.”
