After two successful performances in Scotland’s capital city in 2016 and 2018, Hairspray the Musical will return to the Edinburgh Playhouse in the New Year.

Based on the 1988 film of the same name the much-loved musical comedy – choreographed by Olivier Award-winning Drew McOnie with direction from Paul Kerryson – tells the story of Tracy Turnblad, a girl with big hair and a big heart who dreams of dancing on national television. Set in Baltimore in 1962, her audition makes her a local star and her fight for fame and equality – and local boy Link Larkin – makes for a feel-good show that will lift your heart.

Hairspray the Musical is on at the Edinburgh Playhouse from Monday 25 January to Saturday 30 January 2021. Tickets are on sale from this Wednesday here.
