Hibs’ legend to open Utilita emergency hub in Newkirkgate

Utilita Energy, will open a new Edinburgh-based Energy Hub
as part of the company’s drive to re-energise the high street and have
important face-to-face conversations with customers on how to make their energy
go further, meaning they pay less.
Hibs legend Pat Stanton will open the Hub which is situated
at 41 Newkirkgate this morning at 11am and in addition there will be balloon
modelling, a magician and face-painting to keep the little ones occupied at the
opening. Pat will be doing signings and photos for supporters.
The Energy Hub will be the first of its kind in Scotland,
offering face-to-face customer service – almost unheard of in today’s energy
sector – as well as energy efficiency advice and technology, access to
interactive kid-friendly energy efficiency apps, and a dedicated community
space that is open for the public to book and use from Monday to Saturday.
To celebrate the opening, local schools were invited to
design an energy-saving poster and the winning poster will be displayed on a
large billboard in Newhaven Road from 3 February.
The winner will be announced at the opening, and will
receive a £50 voucher.
All schools that entered will receive £100 and the winning
school will receive £500. Every school is also offered a sports kit up to the
value of £500, courtesy of Utilita.
Bill Bullen, CEO of Utilita, said: “Weekends are for
football, granted, but a quick 20-minute trip down to the new Utilita Energy
Hub could save you around £163 per year on your energy costs, thanks to our
#EnergyHigh5 campaign. Stop by to save.”
