Speedway – Flint helps spark great British win Down Under

Berwick Bandits talented teenager Leon Flint played a key role as Great Britain secured a 2-0 series victory over Australia in Perth.

The 16-year-old rising star claimed five valuable points in the 54-36 victory.

Former Glasgow Tigers and Edinburgh Monarchs rider Dan Bewley roared to 12 points in the comfortable win.

Britain’s skipper Tai Woffinden was the star of the show with a 15-point maximum and Simon Stead, Britain’s team manager, said: “All the lads have done everything right and I’m proud of them”.

Ex-Edinburgh Monarchs rider Cameron Heeps was second top scorer for the home side with nine points.
