Fred’s got them laughing cats and dogs

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home (EDCH) is staging a first next month – a comedy night at The Stand Comedy Club on Tuesday 3 December 2019.

Hosted by Fred MacAulay who is a great supporter of EDCH who has put together a top-notch bill of stand up talent for this very special night. BBC regular MacAulay will headline and has handpicked a line-up of his favourite comedians, including Janey Godley, Rob Kane, Liam Withnail, Susan Morrison, Wendy Wason, Jeannie Jones, Gareth Mutch, Megan Shandley, Gareth Waugh, Dave Flynn and Richard Melvin, with more to be confirmed.

There’s also a Christmas twist. Not only will each comedian be performing a stand up set they will also be singing a special festive song.

This special event not only promises lots of fun and laughter, and all profits will go towards Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s work to rescue, reunite and rehome stray and unwanted pets in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Fred MacAulay said:“I’m so looking forward to our fundraiser. Firstly, because it’s a wee bit different from a normal stand-up gig #singing!! But more importantly because it’ll raise some much-needed funds for the welfare of dogs and cats. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to gargle…”

Nicola Gunn, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, said:“We’d like to thank Fred MacAulay for all his time and effort organising this unique night of Christmas comedy on behalf of Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. We can’t wait for a night of jokes and big singalong festive favourites. And thank you to all the other comedians for agreeing to perform for such a worthwhile cause.

“Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home are dedicated to giving stray and abandoned dogs and cats a second chance at life. With your help, we can continue to rescue, reunite and rehome lost and unwanted pets – helping to give them the wonderful new lives they deserve.”
