Making Tracks announces inaugural Scotland event.

Since 2010, Making Tracks has brought world-class, diverse music from all corners of the globe to leading venues throughout the UK.

In November, the project will make its way to Scotland for the very first time with a date at Edinburgh’s The Queen’s Hall on Sunday 10 November 2019.

The concert will feature solo and collaborative performances from eight emerging musicians from the UK and around the world.

Making Tracks has relaunched this autumn, with an ambitious new model that brings together emerging artists (Making Tracks Fellows) to showcase unique musical traditions, initiate new collaborations and develop strategies for music-based social and environmental engagement.

Making Tracks 2019 starts in October with a 10-day residency in the footsteps of Snowdonia. Inspired by and facilitated in partnership with the ground-breaking US music organisation Found Sound Nation, the residency will give Fellows the chance to create new collaborative works, explore strategies for social and environmental engagement and receive career advice from a team of industry experts; before embarking upon a two-week tour, showcasing their own music and new collaborative works for a range of UK audiences.

Also on Sunday 10 November, the project’s eight 2019 Fellows will lead a community workshop with The Welcoming, Westfield, which celebrates diversity in Scotland’s communities, and supports migrants and refugees in Edinburgh.

Tickets for Making Tracks, 10 November, 7.30pm are available now from The Queen’s Hall £17
