Children in Need grants for Edinburgh

Grants totalling over £178,000 have been awarded to two Edinburgh projects working with disadvantaged children and young people in Edinburgh.

The cash is from BBC Children in Need and the Junction – Young People, Health & Wellbeing will use a two-year grant of £77,116 to support young people who have a range of mental health, physical health and wellbeing issues.

Spartans Community Football Academy will use a three-year grant of £101,473 to provide young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with access to youth groups and sports sessions to help build their confidence, make friends and improve their emotional wellbeing.

Across Edinburgh, BBC Children in Need is currently funding 49 projects to a value of more than £2.9m.
