Hibs come from behind to defeat Dunfermline at East End Park

Hibs came from behind to secure a comfortable 3-1 victory
over Dunfermline at East End Park this afternoon.
New signing Chris Maxwell replaced Patrick Martin in goals
after Hibs’ midweek defeat to Arbroath and the keeper had to pick the ball out
of the net after only four minutes when Dunfermline defender Euan Murray headed
home from Andy Ryan’s corner.
Hibs looked shaky in defence and the pars almost doubled
their advantage but Kevin Nisbet’s effort was deflected over the bar.
The visitors eventually started to control the game and Ryan
Scully did well to save a powerful effort from Tom James then another from Joe
Newell.
Adam Jackson replaced Paul Hanlon at the break and equalised
within three minutes with a superb overhead kick which looped into the net, to
the delight of the travelling supporters.
Hibs continued to press forward and took the lead when Daryl
Horgan was brought down inside the area by Lee Ashcroft. The Irishman converted
the resultant spot kick.
Maxwell then did well to save from Gabby McGill before Hibs wrapped things up when Horgan’s cross found Florian Kamberi (pictured) who headed the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
