Scottish Cup Final Countdown – Lee out but Haring back in the Hearts squad

The injury Gods have visited Tynecastle for the umpteenth time this season but at least today there was a ‘bad news, good news’ scenario.

As expected, midfielder Olly Lee will miss Saturday’s
William Hill Scottish Cup final against Celtic at Hampden. The Englishman
limped off in the league game against the Hoops on Sunday and his recovery is
expected to take around two months.

On the plus side, fellow midfielder Peter Haring – who has
missed the post-split league games with a groin injury – has declared himself
fit and ready for selection. The Austrian told the official Hearts website:

“I
started training a couple of days ago,” Peter said. “I did some
training sessions with the team now and everything feels fine, so I’m good.”
 
“Everything is fine, it all feels good and I’m fit and ready to
play.”

“It’s always a little bit difficult if you haven’t
played for a couple of weeks but it’s the last game of the season and the
biggest game of the season as well,”

“It’s not really about confidence. You want to win
this trophy no matter what, that’s what it’s about.”

“If you speak to the supporters, everyone talks about it. Everyone says the city will be crazy if we win, so that’s what we want to do.”
