The Leith Links Community Council have highlighted that the council plans to redesign the road at Easter Road/Duke Street/Vanburgh Place/Lochend Road to make it easier for pedestrians.

They plan to increase the number of pedestrian crossing and widen the footpaths. Parking and loading will be improved on Duke Street and the eastbound bus stop on Vanburgh Place will be removed.

The traffic lights will be used to manage what will undoubtedly be increased traffic there during the works on the tram line to Newhaven. The road is to be resurfaced and street lighting renewed as part of the works being carried out on various streets ahead of the tram project beginning.

There are slides on the Community Council website and you can submit a webform to tell your local councillors what you think of the plans.
