International caps for two Heriot’s pupils

George Heriot’s pupils, Eilidh Adams (15) and Tegan Browning (14), have been presented with their international caps after completing a successful season for the Scottish Schools FA U15 girls’ football squad.

The only school in Scotland to have two players selected, the George Heriot’s pupils played in all three of Scotland’s fixtures at the recent prestigious Bob Docherty International Tournament in Salou.

Both players made an outstanding contribution to the squad’s collective efforts, as Vice-Captain Eilidh also became Scotland’s top scorer by bagging three goals across the matches played against Northern Ireland and England.

Speaking about this achievement George Heriot’s School Principal, Lesley Franklin, commented: “The achievements of Eilidh and Tegan are outstanding, and we are proud to see the two of them represent not only George Heriot’s in this tournament, but Scotland too. Sport is a big part of school life here at George Heriot’s.

An active lifestyle promotes positive mental health, so we encourage pupils to find an activity that suits them.”

Outside of school, Eilidh currently plays for Hibernian Girls and Ladies while Tegan is part of Boroughmuir Thistle  FC. Photocaption: (L-R) Eilidh Adams (15) and Tegan Browning (14)
