Fishing – joint winners of the third round in the Bass Rock SAL
Two anglers shared first place in the third round of the Bass Rock Sea Angling League and the first four places were separated by only three centimetres after three hours of fishing in heavy rain at picturesque Seacliff Beach near North Berwick.
Stuart Fairbairn from Haddington and Barry McEwan from Port Seton were first as they both landed a single fish of 22cm.
Second was Paul Robertson from North Berwick with a fish one centimetre smaller.
Joint third were Steven Nairn from Duns and Ryan Barnet from Edinburgh with fish of 20cm while fourth was Craig Ogilvie from North Berwick with a fish of 19cm.
A total of 16 anglers fished with six cards returned and organiser Craig Ogilvie said flounders were the only species caught on the night to worm and fish baits.
