According to a guide to be published this weekend by The Sunday Times Stockbridge is the best place to live in Edinburgh.
Although Edinburgh as a whole does not figure the village of Stockbridge is followed in a close second by Leith. The measures employed include employment, schools and broadband speed to culture community spirit and local shops.
Leith is recognised for its cutting edge creativity and culinary scene with Michelin starts and a load of sourdough. Stockbridge is feted as a place with beautiful properties, a village atmosphere and pretty walks along the Water of Leith.
There are ten Scottish places in all in the UK topped by Dundee which it describes as a vibrant creative city bursting with arts and culture mainly due to the opening of the V&A.
The robust statistics used include exclusive up to date house prices provided by Habito and TwentyCi as well as the Sunday Times expert panel. The locations chosen are said to be places where everyone can thrive.
