Sound Symphony’s sounding you out
Fancy celebrating making music your own way by weaving together live classical instruments, singing and a wide range of weird and wonderful sounds?
Sound Symphony wants to bring out the sympathetic devilishness in you! Time for some quality, expressive inner-hugging within a sensory-rich environment, where the audience can feel the music through their whole body.
Sound Symphony is produced by Independent Arts Projects in association with Capital Theatres and created by Ellie Griffiths.
With funding from Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Creative Scotland, Sound Symphony is the second part of a creative development programme. This has explored how improvisation and sensory approaches can lead to collaboration with young people with autism. In this show, the aim is to enable the young people to become co-composers in their own symphony of sounds.
This funding also supports the team to develop effective approaches for training and supporting venues. This will better equip them to welcome young people who have profound autism and their families.
