Division One: Sunday: Grange 3, Clydesdale 0. Saturday: Grange 4, Hillhead 1; Watsonians 1, Clydesdale 6; Uddingston 4, Western Wildcats 3; Edinburgh University 5, Grove Menzieshill 0.

Frank Ryan netted a double and Duncan Riddell a single as newly-crowned Division One champions Grange cruised to a 3-0 victory over sixth-placed Clydesdale at Fettes College.

It was their 14th win in 17 games so far this term, a record which includes three draws, with only third-placed Grove Menzieshill next Saturday standing between the Edinburgh club and an unbeaten season.

Grange have secured their second successive title by beating Hillhead 4-1 at Fettes College on Saturday after being 3-0 ahead at the break, Alan Johnston, Frank Ryan, Robbie Shepherdson and Todd Mills claiming the goals.

Their nearest challengers, Western Wildcats, lost 4-3 at Uddingston while Edinburgh University thrashed third-placed Grove Menzieshill 5-0 at Peffermill.

Grange have 42 points from 16 games after winning 13 of them and drawing three.

Western are second with 34 points with one game left and Grove have two games remaining, one of them against Grange, and they are on 32 points.

Ed Irvine, Grange’s manager, said it was all down to the hard work of the coaching staff and players.

Grange are in action on Sunday (13.30) when they host Clydesdale at Fettes College.
