Ice hockey – Bulmer urged to keep purple patch going
Brett Bulmer claimed a glory double as Fife Flyers tamed Milton Keynes Lightning at Kirkcaldy.
And Flyers’ head coach Todd Dutiaume (pictured) would love to cap Friday’s win with victory at high-flying Nottingham Panthers on Sunday (face-off 4pm).
Canadian-born Bulmer, a former Minnesota Wings draft pick, will be a key man.
Dutiaume said: “Milton Keynes is always going to be a dangerous and you give them opportunities and they can punish you.
“Our guys stuck with the programme for the most part and did enough to win the game.”
Dutiaume said that Man of the Match winner Bulmer is capable of being the best player on the ice on a regular basis.
He added: “We hope he has a big month and he continues to play this way.
“When Brett is skating like that we are a completely different team.”
Fife should have no fears in visiting Nottingham where they won 6-2 on their last visit.
Elsewhere, Glasgow Clan visit Guildford Flames (6pm) where they have not won so far this season, losing 2-0 and 4-2.
Struggling Dundee Stars entertain Coventry Blaze in a crucial scrap (5pm) with points at a premium.
But Omar Pacha will remind his hard-working side that they burned Blaze 4-2 at The Dundee Ice Arena on their last visit.
