Neil Lennon wants to add to his squad

Neil Lennon is determined to bring in new players in the January transfer window following potentially long-term injuries to key players Martin Boyle and Ryan Porteous coupled with the departure of influential defender Efe Ambrose.

With Lewis Sevenson and Thomas Agyepong also injured and Australian duo Mark Milligan and Jamie MacLaren both away on international duty, Hibs have only 13 senior players available for selection.

Ryan Gauld and Stephane Omeonga have been recruited on loan whilst Scott Allan has signed a pre-contract and will join the club in the summer when his Celtic contract runs out. Lennon told BBC Scotland: “Ryan’s (Porteous) having a scan and then seeing a specialist “It didn’t look good after the game. With Efe Ambrose being away, it’s something we’ll have to have a look at. “It’s just another blow, coming into this month we’ve lost arguably our best three players from the first half of the season in Ryan, Martin Boyle and Efe.

“We need to get some players in to bolster what we have and provide an injection of freshness and quality.”

“We’re down to the bare bones, I only have 13 senior players at the moment. We want to bring another two in, minimum. It’s essential.”
