Elyssa Vulpes – a bright musical talent

Elyssa Vulpes is one of Edinburgh’s brightest musical
talents. Described as a mix of Jade Bird, Neko Case and Martha Wainwright with
an Italian edge, her latest album – Holding On, Letting Go – is a wonderful mix
of passionate songs, some of which will tug at your heart, others –  like the infectious Do You Wanna Play –  will instinctively get your feet tapping.

Keep Going puts me in mind of a great quote from the legendary actor Michael Caine who advises to take something positive from every experience in life – but particularly the bad ones. And then there’s the haunting lyrics of Let Yourself Fall.

Ms Vulpes’s music can best be described as contemporary rock
with an atmospheric folk tinge. The recently released album Holding On, Letting
Go is very impressive and deserves a wide audience.
