Comings and goings at Tynecastle

It’s been a busy day at Tynecastle as Hearts confirmed it was
a case of one player in and one player out, two loan players returning – with a
new loan player possibly joining the ranks in Gorgie.

Striker David Vanecek has completed his move from Czech Republic
side FC Teplice. The big forward, who stands at 6ft 4inches tall, had agreed a
pre-contract deal with Hearts several months ago and with the January transfer
window now officially open the Czech U19 international will head to Hearts
winter training camp in Spain tomorrow.

Defender Bobby Burns and Ryan Edwards have returned to
Tynecastle following loan spells at Livingston and St Mirren respectively.
Ironically, Burns may feature in Hearts next competitive fixture – the William
Hill Scottish Cup tie against Livingston at Tynecastle later this month.

However, passing Burns, Edwards and Vanecek on the way out
was defender Jimmy Dunne. The on-loan Burnley player has returned to Turf Moor
after a successful loan period at Tynecastle when he was brought in following an
injury to captain Christophe Berra in August. Dunne produced a string of highly
impressive performances for Hearts to the extent he was called up to the
Republic of Ireland squad.

Speaking on social media, Dunne said he couldn’t thank Hearts enough as he felt at home in Gorgie, adding the passion and support shown from the fans was ‘unbelievable’.

A possible replacement for Dunne is Leeds United defender Conor Shaughnessy. It is believed Hearts are finalising a loan deal to take the 22-year-old Irishman to Tynecastle until the end of the season.
