The venue for the Monarchs video highlights night in early December

Rory Schlein will ride for Somerset Rebels next season against his former club Edinburgh Monarchs plus, of course, Glasgow Tigers and Berwick Bandits in the SGB Championship.

He joins former Glasgow skipper Chris Harris in Rebels’ line-up for their 20th Anniversary campaign at the Oaktree Arena.

Manager Garry May said: “I believe we have a golden boy in Rory. He is vastly experienced and with Chris (Harris) as a team-mate he knows he will be kept on his toes throughout the season.”

Meanwhile, Edinburgh’s Home Highlights video night on Friday, December 7 (7.30pm) in The Music Box at Edinburgh College is a sell-out and a waiting list for tickets has been created.

A Monarchs spokesman said: “If you would like to be on the list then please email info@edinburghmonarchs.co.uk stating how many tickets you desire.”
