Murrayfield Racers travel to Dundee Tigers on Saturday in the Scottish National League and that is a welcome relief.

As Tony Hand’s men have lost their last seven games in the National Ice Hockey League, North Cup.

And the latest reverse came on Sunday in an 11-0 demolition at Hull Pirates.

Hand’s men did have chances but failed to put them away on Humberside.

His squad has been badly hit by injuries and the club’s director of hockey praised his remaining troops for continuing to battle against quality sides.

Racers next home game is on Sunday when they entertain Solway Sharks and that is game eight in the North Cup. Face off is at 6pm.

And Hand expects to have a stronger line-up as several key players who have been sidelined by injury are close to making a comeback.
