Hibs’ captain David Gray hopes to feature against Kilmarnock

Hibernian captain David Gray returned to training last week after a period on the sidelines due to an injury sustained at home to Hamilton at the beginning of October.

The popular captain is aiming to play a part in tomorrow’s game at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock as Hibs prepare for eight matches in four weeks during December.

The month includes games against Celtic and Rangers, as well as having an Edinburgh Derby at Easter Road to round off 2018.

Speaking at the club’s annual Golf Day at Archerfield, Gray said: “I’ve been back training for the past few days and I was back training just before the game against Dundee last weekend.

“That game came about just too soon as I had been out for just a little bit too long and it was pushing it to be involved in that game.

“Hopefully I am going to be involved in the next game and I am looking towards the weekend.

“It’s an exciting time. It’s eight games in about 28 days or so for us to be looking forward to.

“I know that us as players and everyone else is looking at it thinking that it is going to be hectic, but if we can put a little run together, especially on the back of a few poorer results, we will be looking forward to trying to put it right as soon as possible.

“We’ve got a good opportunity to do that starting at the weekend with that tough game at Kilmarnock.”
