Contract extensions for two Hibs’ teenagers

Jamie Gullan and Josh Campbell have both signed contract extensions with Hibernian, keeping them at the club until 2022.

Both have been regular features in the Hibs Development Squad over the past few seasons.

19-year-old Gullan who has two first team appearances to his name, told Hibernian Media: “I was over the moon to sign the deal. I think I’ve been doing alright this season and feel like I’ve progressed quite well. When I got the call and was offered the deal I was delighted.

“I am aiming to keep being involved in the first team and keep taking my chances when they come and see where I go from there.

“Hopefully I can keep progressing and improving throughout the four years of the deal.”

Campbell who is a versatile player and has played in the centre of defence, midfield and up front for the Development Squad, credits his development to learning from the coaches such as Eddie May, Grant Murray, Lee Makel and Colin Nish, and the 18-year-old is focusing on continuing to work hard to achieve his goals with the club.

He said: “I am delighted to have signed the contract extension. I am just surrounded by the right people here. The coaches all know what they are doing and there is a good bunch of lads here as well.

“It’s great being here because you get little tips and learn from everyone like Eddie, Grant, Lee, Nishy and the other coaches too, they all help you further your game.

“My goals are to get into the first-team squad and to get into the Scotland squad. It will take a lot of hard work as it’s a big squad here and the national team are doing well, but I’m prepared to do it to achieve my goals.”
