At the Open Eye – former owner Tom Wilson exhibits his work
Tom Wilson is an artist who became a gallery owner and has now returned to being an artist. It is a life he likes very much, and he is able to produce work to please himself rather than a waiting gallery or agent. His use of the ordinary item as subject matter turns it into a fascinating piece of art.
His new exhibition The Odd Man Out balances traditional creation of art with modern day consumerism.
His paintings and drawings encompass the ordinary everyday articles which intrigue him such as collections of keys and brushes, as well as a series of portraits or studies of well known figures.
Here you can listen to our extended interview with him about his work.
