Lewis Stevenson determined to go into international break on back of victory
Hibs’ popular long-serving defender Lewis Stevenson is determined to go into the international break on the back of a victory over Hamilton at Easter Road on Saturday.
Stevenson was at Eden Mill’s Blendworks in St Andrews on Tuesday afternoon, creating his own gin and helping to select ingredients for the gin collaboration between the club and Eden Mill alongside fellow Hibs’ legends David Gray, Jackie McNamara, Murdo MacLeod and Tony Higgins.
Speaking at the event, the Scotland international told Hibernian Media: “In the last few weeks we’ve done pretty well. We had the disappointment of going out of the cup, but the performance merited a bit more than that.
“Last time we went into an international break it was on the back of a defeat to Livingston, so we are eager to not make that mistake again.
“Since then, the league form has been good and we’ve been keeping clean sheets as well which always helps.
“Hamilton got a win at Easter Road last season and we don’t want that to happen again. It’s going to be a tough game, but we will be trying our hardest to go into the international break with four wins in a row – it’ll definitely make the gin taste that little bit better.”
“The afternoon was really good. It was something totally different for me, but I really enjoyed it.
“I quite like gin as well, so that helped a bit, but it’s a shame I couldn’t drink it today.
“I went for Goji berry, strawberry and one of the spices in my one that I made. I was struggling to come up with a name so went for I went for ‘Gadgie Berry Gin’, so I hope it goes down well!
“It was a good afternoon all round.”
Tickets for Saturday’s game are still on sale and can be bought online, over the phone and from the Hibernian Ticket Office.
