Valuable bikes now under lock and key

Valuable bikes parked in the street overnight are vulnerable according to security firm boss

Motorcycle theft in Edinburgh has dropped significantly according to figures sourced from Police Scotland by Moto Stable founder Callum McPherson.

The businessman believes a key reason is that motorcycle owners are aware of the potential for theft and know that they are not able to leave their motorcycle outside overnight.

His Abbeyhill-based company provides secure, all-hours city centre motorcycle storage on a monthly membership basis.

McPherson said: “Motorcyclists know they can’t take any chances.”

The company, who look after high-value bikes including Harley Davidson, BMW and Ducati, is looking for a second Edinburgh location to expand.
