Hibs’ keeper Ofir Marciano delighted to be back in training

Hibs keeper Ofir Marciano is delighted to be back in training after a long-term injury which has seen him miss the start of this season.

The 28-year-old took part in a bounce game earlier this week which was an important step in the process of staking a claim for the starting spot.

The Israeli international told Hibernian Media: “After such a long time out I felt like I really needed a game and it was my first game back, which was good. I really needed it to get back to feeling what it is like being in a game for things like my positioning and the tempo.

He said: “It feels great to be back in training. I have been looking forward to that for so long, ever since I’d had my operation.

“It has been a frustrating time for me as it has taken a long time, longer than I expected, but it has been a complicated injury.

“I am happy that I am back now and in training and I really appreciate it.”

“It was something that was important for me, obviously training helps as well, but playing gives you the best indication of where you are in the moment.

“I’m happy with that. I still need some time, but I feel like I’m just getting there.”
