Ian Woosnam, a top name for the Scottish Seniors Open

A total of 14 former Ryder Cup stars will challenge for the Scottish Senior Open title at Craigielaw.

Ian Woosnam, successful as a Ryder Cup player and captain, heads a strong field.

They compete in the £250,000 tournament on the Staysure Tour when it returns to East Lothian from September 14-16.

The Welsh-born 1991 Masters Champion, who has won of 52 tournaments worldwide, will be a huge draw.

Until now, there has been only one Welsh winner in Brian Huggett who triumphed at Royal Aberdeen in 1995.

Costantino Rocca and Phillip Price are also listed in the field which includes eight past winners including England’s Paul Eales.
